General description

High-quality, understated, yet uniquely elegant. The carbon mudguard is mounted with the original painted bracket on the motorcycle. While you don't achieve the full weight-saving potential of the extended carbon mudguard, it stays closer to the original design of the motorcycles. This way, the colour distribution intended by BMW is not interrupted, and only the unpainted part is replaced by a higher-quality material.

The Ilmberger name stands for the highest quality and innovation in carbon manufacturing. Each part is manufactured in our own production facility, where we rely on prepreg developed specifically for Ilmberger as the base material. This is processed in an elaborate autoclave procedure, offering numerous advantages.

Prepreg, a pre-impregnated carbon fabric, is characterised by a uniform resin distribution while having a high fibre volume content. This leads to maximum strength and increases the flexibility of the componente. Processing in an autoclave, a high-pressure oven operating under controlled temperature and pressure conditions, ensures perfect, uniform curing and a flawless surface. This method prevents air inclusions in the material and ensures consistently high quality of the parts.

Our carbon parts are laminated by hand with great experience and care, allowing for consistent fibre alignment without distortion. After curing in the autoclave, the edges of the parts are precisely cut by robot to ensure a perfect fit and the highest quality.

A globally unique step in Ilmberger's production is the complete plastic powder coating of all carbon parts. This coating not only protects the parts from environmental influences but also gives them an unparalleled deep effect. No other carbon manufacturer offers this type of sealing, which prevents the parts from ageing and significantly extends their service life. The final clear coat on this component is high-gloss and provides a perfect, smooth surface that further accentuates the luxurious-sporty look of our carbon parts. Every part that leaves our production facility is a masterpiece of engineering and design, meeting the highest demands.
