Ilmberger Carbon exhaust heat shield fronte at the muffler/silencer for KTM 1290 Superadventure 2014-2018, with ABE according to the application listGeneral description
With its combination of elegant curves and sharp edges, the carbon exhaust heat protector integrates seamlessly into the modern lines of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure like no other. However, it offers many advantages, not only aesthetically but also technically. High-quality carbon conducts heat significantly slower than the materials of the original part would. This keeps the outside noticeably cooler in comparison and better protects the foot from burns. For our carbon, we exclusively use prepreg fabric produced specifically for this purpose, which is also used in a similar form in Formula 1 and aerospace. The material, intricately laminated by hand and cured in several stages in an autoclave, not only offers a unique appearance but also exceptional technical properties. For the same volume, it possesses three times the specific stiffness of steel and, due to its exceptionally low density, only a breakage of its weight. These properties are particularly pronounced in our products due to the high fibre volume content.
To optimally protect this high-quality material from all types of environmental influencesn, we, as the only carbon manufacturer worldwide, use a specially developed plastic coating on all surfaces. This, in combination with our clear coat, creates an unprecedented and unique depth effect, which particularly highlights the high quality of the material.
To ensure that not only riding but also fitting is a pleasure, we exclusively use the original mounting points for this part.
