The carbon heel guards for the BMW S1000RR (from 2015) replace the original component using the original mounting points. The focus is on weight savings (typically about 70% savings compared to the original component) and increased rigidity. The carbon part was manufactured completely from prepreg (see FAQ) material in an autoclave according to the latest guidelines and, as is customary for us, then covered with a clear plastic coating to protect against environmental influences. This plastic coating enormously surpasses the usual clear lacquer coating in terms of protective effect, scratch resistance, and durability.
