General Description

With the carbon heel guard, attention to detail can be expressed in a very special way. The carbon part replaces the original component using the original mounting points.
Through the combination of elegant curves and hard edges, the exhaust heat protector made of carbon blends into the modern lines of the new Aprilia like no other. But it offers many advantages not only visually but also technically. High-quality carbon conducts heat significantly slower than the materials of the original part would. This keeps the outside noticeably cooler by comparison and better protects the foot from burns.
To achieve a particularly harmonious overall appearance, the fibre layers are laid into the mould and aligned by experts. This allows the carbon part to perfectly blend into the surrounding shapes of the motorcycle. The more of our parts are installed and combined, the more overwhelming the result.
Only prepreg fabric, specifically produced for this purpose, which is used in a similar form in Formula 1 and aerospace, is used for the carbon. The material, elaborately laminated by hand and cured in several stages in an autoclave, not only impresses with its unique appearance but also with its unique technical properties. It has three times the specific stiffness of steel at the same volume and, at the same time, due to its particularly low density, only a breakage of its weight. These properties are particularly pronounced in our products due to the high fibre volume content.
To optimally protect this high-quality material from influences of all kinds from the environment, Ilmberger Carbon, as the only carbon manufacturer worldwide, uses a specially developed plastic coating on all surfaces. In combination with clear lacquer, this provides an unprecedented and unique depth effect, which particularly highlights the high quality of the material.
To make not only riding but also fitting a pleasure, only the original mounting points are used for this part.
