The fuel tank side cover insert for the original fuel tank side fairing made of carbon with a glossy finish for the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade (SP), SC82, from 2020 onwards, replaces the original component using the original mounting points.The focus is on weight savings (typically a saving of approx. 70% compared to the original component) and higher rigidity. The carbon part was manufactured entirely from prepreg (see FAQ) material in an autoclave according to the latest guidelines and, in the next step, as is customary for us, coated with a clear plastic finish to protect against environmental influences. This plastic coating enormously surpasses the usual clear lacquer coating in terms of protective effect, scratch resistance, and durability. But the coating not only scores technically, it also clearly enhances the three-dimensional effect of the carbon structure.
