The fuel tank cover encloses the fuel tank and protects it from all sides.To achieve a particularly harmonious overall appearance, the fibre layers are laid and aligned in the mould by experts. This ensures the carbon part perfectly integrates with the surrounding shapes of the motorcycle. The more of our parts are installed and combined, the more impressive the result.
For their carbon, Ilmberger exclusively uses prepreg fabric produced specifically for this purpose, similar to that used in Formula 1 and aerospace. The material, meticulously hand-laminated and cured in multiple stages in an autoclave, impresses not only with a unique appearance but also with its unparalleled technical properties. For the same volume, it possesses three times the specific stiffness of steel and, due to its particularly low density, only a breakage of its weight. These properties are especially pronounced in Ilmberger products due to their high fibre volume content.
To optimally protect this high-quality material from all types of environmental influences, Ilmberger, as the only carbon manufacturer worldwide, uses a specially developed plastic coating on all surfaces. This, in combination with our clear lacquer, creates an unprecedented and unique depth effect, which particularly highlights the high quality of the material.
To ensure that not only riding but also fitting is a pleasure, Ilmberger exclusively uses the original mounting points for this part.
