General description

The carbon front exhaust heat shield for the BMW K1200S (2005-2008) / K1200R Sport (2007-2011) / K1300R (2008-current) is manufactured from a special high-temperature resistant prepreg carbon material using a special autoclave manufacturing process to minimise discolouration of the carbon fabric when exposed to enormous heat. This product replaces the original component using the original mounting points. The focus is on weight saving (typically a saving of approx. 70% compared to the original component) and increased rigidity. The carbon part has been manufactured entirely from prepreg (see FAQ) material in an autoclave according to the latest guidelines and, as is customary for us, subsequently coated with a clear plastic finish to protect against environmental influences. This plastic coating significantly outperforms conventional clear lacquer in terms of protective effect, scratch resistance, and durability. However, the coating not only excels technically but also clearly enhances the three-dimensional effect of the carbon structure.
