General description

The carbon frame cover is applied directly to the frame. It covers it and attracts attention. However, the frame cover is not only visually appealing. Thanks to the high surface quality of Ilmberger Carbon, the frame cover also withstands intensive number-plate bracket for a long period. Thus, there are no unsightly abrasion marks on the rough cast upper surface of the frame, neither after countless long tours nor during daily number-plate bracket of the motorcycle. To perfect the high-quality impression, the frame cover extends not only along the vertical frame strut where the leg rubs but also far upwards, disappearing under the dense side fairing. Thus, from the outside, it is difficult to see where the frame fairing begins and where it ends.
Installed in just a few minutes, the value of the motorcycle is significantly enhanced. To achieve a particularly harmonious overall appearance, the fibre layers are expertly laid into the mould and aligned. This way, the carbon part perfectly nestles into the surrounding shapes of the motorcycle. The more of our parts are installed and combined, the more impressive the result.
For our carbon, we exclusively use prepreg fabric produced specifically for this purpose, which is also used in a similar form in Formula 1 and aerospace. The material, elaborately laminated by hand and cured in several stages in an autoclave, not only impresses with a unique look but also with its unique technical properties. It possesses three times the specific stiffness of steel for the same volume and, simultaneously, due to its particularly low density, only a fraction of its weight. These properties are particularly pronounced in our products due to the high fibre volume content.
To optimally protect this high-quality material from all kinds of environmental influences, we, as the only carbon manufacturer worldwide, use a specially developed plastic coating on all surfaces. In combination with our clear coat, this provides an unprecedented and unique deep effect, which particularly highlights the high quality of the material.
So that not only riding but also fitting is a pleasure, we exclusively use the original fastening points for this part.
