General description

The carbon frame cover is applied directly to the frame. It covers it and attracts attention. But the frame cover is not only visually appealing. Thanks to the high surface quality of Ilmberger Carbon, the frame cover also withstands intensive number-plate bracketzung for a long period. Thus, there are no unpleasant chafing marks on the rough cast upperfläceh of the frame, neither after countless long tours nor during daily number-plate bracketzung of the motorcycles. To perfect the high-quality impression, the frame cover not only runs along the vertical frame spar, where the leg rubs, but also extends far upwards, where it disappears under the dense side fairing. This makes it difficult to see from the outside where the frame cover begins and where it ends.
Installed in just a few minutes, the value of the motorcycles is enormously enhanced. To achieve a particularly harmonious overall appearance, the fibre layers are expertly laid into the mould and aligned. This way, the carbon part nestles perfectly into the surrounding shapes of the motorcycles. The more of our parts that are installed and combined, the more overwhelming the result.
For our carbon, we exclusively use prepreg fabric produced specifically for this purpose, which is also used in a similar form in Formula 1 and aerospace. The material, elaborately laminated by hand and cured in several stages in an autoclave, convinces not only with its unique appearance but also with its unique technical properties. With the same volume, it possesses three times the specific stiffness of steel and, at the same time, due to its particularly low density, only a breakageteil of its weight. These properties are particularly pronounced in our products due to the high fibre volume content.
To optimally protect this high-quality material from influencesn of all kinds from the environment, we, as the only carbon manufacturer worldwide, use a specially developed plastic coating on all surfaces. In combination with our clear coat, this ensures an unparalleled and unique depth effect, which particularly highlights the high quality of the material.
So that not only riding but also fitting is a pleasure, we use only the original mounting points for this part.
