The exhaust heat shield on the header for the Ducati 1200 and 1200 S from 2017 replaces the original component using the original mounting points. For the production of parts mounted near the exhaust, we use a very special high-temperature prepreg material to minimise discoloration and burning of the carbon from today's technical perspective.The focus is on weight saving (typically a saving of approx. 70% compared to the original component) and higher rigidity. The carbon part was manufactured entirely from prepreg (see FAQ) material in an autoclave according to the latest guidelines and, as is customary for us, coated with a clear plastic coating to protect against environmental influences. This plastic coating enormously surpasses the usual clear lacquer coating in terms of protective effect, scratch resistance and durability. But the coating not only scores technically, it also clearly accentuates the three-dimensional effect of the carbon structure.
