Carbon Exhaust Heat Shield - BMW R1200R (LC) from 2015 / BMW R1200RS (LC) from 2015 The front exhaust heat shield is manufactured from a special high-temperature resistant pre-preg carbon material using a special autoclave manufacturing process to minimise discolouration of the carbon weave under extreme heat exposure. This product replaces the original component using the original mounting points. The focus is on weight saving (typically a saving of approx. 70% compared to the original component) and increased rigidity. The carbon part was manufactured entirely from pre-preg (see FAQ) material in an autoclave according to the latest guidelines and, in the next step, as is customary for us, coated with a clear plastic coating to protect against environmental influences. This plastic coating significantly surpasses the usual clear lacquer coating in terms of protective effect, scratch resistance, and durability.
