The upper fuel tank cover for the BMW R 1250 GS from model year 2019 replaces the original component using the original mounting points. The focus is on weight saving (typically a saving of approx. 70% compared to the original component) and increased rigidity.The carbon part was manufactured entirely from pre-preg material in an autoclave according to the latest guidelines and then coated with a clear plastic finish to protect against environmental influences. This plastic finish significantly surpasses the usual clear lacquer coating in terms of protective effect, scratch resistance and durability. But the coating not only excels technically, it also clearly accentuates the three-dimensional effect of the carbon structure.
