Rivet Link 520 HOGeneral Description
Rivet Link:Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (non-sealed or sealed with O-rings) that are permanently closed at the factory with a rivet link. A rivet link is always used for high-performance vehicles, which means heavily loaded and fast-moving chains. In contrast to the aforementioned clip-type master link, proper, permanent, non-detachable riveting is the safer option.
Note on Rivet Links:
There are two different types of rivet links available on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for the correct riveting of both types!
While hollow rivet pins are flared with a punch to secure them after the outer plate has been fitted, the tool simply flattens the head of solid rivet pins. After correct and professional riveting of the solid rivet pins of the master link, you will no longer see any difference from the surrounding chain links.
