Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (unsealed or sealed with rubber O-rings), which are permanently closed at the factory with a rivet master link. A rivet master link is always used for high-performance vehicles, meaning heavily stressed and fast-running chains. In contrast to the aforementioned clip master link, a proper, permanent, non-detachable riveting is the safer option.All ENUMA® o-ring and Quadra-X-Ring chains designed for high-performance motorcycles also include the precisely matching rivet master link.
Note:
There are two different types of rivet master links on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Both types require special tools for proper riveting!
While hollow rivet pins are spread with a mandrel after the outer plate is fitted for security, the tool simply flattens the head of solid rivet pins. After the proper and professional riveting of the solid rivet pins of the master link, you will no longer see any difference compared to the surrounding chain links.
ENUMA® DEX chains are exclusively supplied with hollow rivet master links. All other chains include solid rivet master links.
