Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (unsealed or sealed with O-rings) which are permanently closed at the factory with a rivet link. A rivet link is always used on high-performance vehicles, meaning highly stressed and fast-running chains. In contrast to the aforementioned clip link, proper permanent non-detachable riveting is the safer option.All ENUMA® o-ring and Quadra-X-ring chains designed for high-performance motorcycles also include the precisely matching rivet link for the chain.
Note:
There are two different types of rivet links on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for proper riveting for both types!
While hollow rivet pins are spread with a mandrel after the outer plate is applied for securing, the tool simply flattens the head of solid rivet pins. After correctly and professionally riveting the solid rivet pins of the master link, you will no longer notice any difference from the surrounding chain links.
ENUMA® DEX chains are exclusively supplied with hollow rivet links. All other chains contain solid rivet links.
