Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (unsealed or sealed with O-rings) which are permanently closed at the factory with a rivet link. A rivet link is always used for high-performance vehicles, meaning heavily stressed and fast-running chains. In contrast to the aforementioned clip-type link, proper permanent non-detachable riveting is the safer option.All ENUMA® o-ring and Quadra-X-Ring chains designed for high-performance motorcycles also include the precisely matching rivet link.
Note:
There are two different types of rivet links on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for the correct riveting of both types!
While hollow rivet pins are flared with a punch after fitting the outer plate for securing, the tool simply flattens the head for solid rivet pins. After correct and professional riveting of the solid rivet pins of the master link, you will no longer see any difference compared to the surrounding chain links.
ENUMA® DEX chains are exclusively supplied with hollow rivet links. All other chains contain solid rivet links.
