Nowadays, most motorcycles are supplied with endless chains (non-sealed or sealed with rubber rings), which are permanently closed at the factory with a rivet link. A rivet link is always used for high-performance vehicles, and thus for heavily loaded and high-speed chains. In contrast to the aforementioned clip link, proper, permanent, and insoluble riveting is the safer option.For all ENUMA® o-ring- and Quadra-X-Ring-chains intended for high-performance motorcycles, the precisely matching rivet link for the chain is also included in the scope of delivery.
Note:
On the market, there are two different versions of rivet links: with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for proper riveting for both types!
While hollow rivet pins are flared with a mandrel after fitting the outer plate for securing, the tool simply flattens the head of solid rivet pins. After proper and professional riveting of the solid rivet pins of the connecting link, you will no longer notice any difference from the surrounding chain links.
ENUMA® DEX chains are supplied exclusively with hollow rivet links. All other chains contain solid rivet links.
