Rivet link:Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (unsealed or sealed with O-rings) which are permanently closed at the factory with a rivet link. A rivet link is always used for high-performance vehicles, meaning heavily stressed and fast-running chainn. Unlike the clip link mentioned above, a proper, permanent, insoluble riveting is the safer option.
Note on rivet links:
There are two different types of rivet links available on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for proper riveting for both types!
While hollow rivet pins are flared with a punch after the outer plate is applied for securing, the tool simply flattens the head for solid rivet pins. After the solid rivet pins of the master link have been properly and professionally riveted, you will no longer see any difference compared to the surrounding chainngliedern.
