Rivet Link:Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (non-sealed or sealed with rubber rings), which are permanently closed at the factory with a rivet link. A rivet link is always used on high-performance vehicles, meaning heavily loaded and fast-running chainn. In contrast to the aforementioned clip link, proper permanent, inseparable riveting is the safer option.
Note on Rivet Links:
There are two different types of rivet links on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for proper riveting for both types!
While hollow rivet pins are spread apart with a punch after fitting the outer plate to secure them, the tool simply flattens the head of solid rivet pins. After correctly and professionally riveting the solid rivet pins of the master link, you will no longer see any difference compared to the surrounding chainn links.
