Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (unsealed or sealed with rubber rings) that are permanently closed at the factory with a rivet link. A rivet link is always used for high-performance vehicles, meaning heavily stressed and fast-running chains. In contrast to the clip link mentioned above, proper, permanent, non-detachable riveting is the more secure option.All ENUMA® o-ring- and Quadra-X-ring chains, which are designed for high-performance motorcycles, also include the exactly matching rivet link for the chain.
Note:
There are two different types of rivet links on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for proper riveting of both types!
While hollow rivet pins are splayed open with a punch to secure them after the outer plate has been applied, the tool simply flattens the head of solid rivet pins. After the solid rivet pins of the master link have been properly and professionally riveted, you will no longer see any difference from the surrounding chain links.
ENUMA® DEX chains are exclusively supplied with hollow rivet links. All other chains include solid rivet links.
