Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (unsealed or sealed with rubber rings), which are permanently closed with a rivet link at the factory. A rivet link is always used for high-performance vehicles, and thus for heavily loaded and fast-running chains. In contrast to the aforementioned clip link, proper permanent non-detachable riveting is the safer option.All ENUMA® o-ring and Quadra-X-Ring chains intended for high-performance motorcycles also include the exact matching rivet link for the chain.
Note:
There are two different types of rivet links on the market - with hollow rivets or solid rivets. For both types, special tools are required for proper riveting!
While hollow rivet pins are flared with a punch after fitting the outer plate for securing, the tool simply flattens the head of solid rivet pins. After the proper and professional riveting of the solid rivet pins of the master link, you will no longer see any difference compared to the surrounding chain links.
ENUMA® DEX chains are exclusively supplied with hollow rivet links. All other chains include solid rivet links.
