Hollow Rivet Master Link EK 530 MVXZ2 CHROMEGeneral Description
Rivet Master Link:Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (unsealed or sealed with rubber O-rings) which are permanently closed at the factory with a rivet master link. A rivet master link is always used on high-performance vehicles, and thus on heavily stressed and fast-running chains. In contrast to the aforementioned clip-type master link, proper, permanent, non-detachable riveting is the safer option.
Note on Rivet Master Links:
There are two different versions of rivet master links on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Both types require special tools for proper riveting!
While hollow rivet pins are splayed out with a punch after the outer plate has been fitted for securing, the tool simply flattens the head of solid rivet pins. After correct and professional riveting of the solid rivet pins of the master link, you will no longer notice any difference from the surrounding chain links.
