Hollow Rivet Master Link EK 525 MVXZ2 VIOLETGeneral Description
Rivet Link:Most motorcycles are now delivered with endless chains (unsealed or sealed with O-rings) which are permanently closed at the factory with a rivet link. A rivet link is always used on high-performance vehicles, meaning highly stressed and fast-running chains. In contrast to the aforementioned clip link, proper permanent non-detachable riveting is the safer option.
Note on Rivet Links:
There are two different types of rivet links available on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for proper riveting of both types!
While the hollow rivet pins are flared with a mandrel after the outer link plate is fitted for securement, the tool simply flattens the head of solid rivet pins. After proper and professional riveting of the solid rivet pins of the master link, you will no longer see any difference compared to the surrounding chain links.
