Rivet link:Nowadays, most motorcycles are delivered with endless chains (unsealed or sealed with O-rings) which are permanently closed with a rivet link ex works. A rivet link is always used for high-performance vehicles, meaning heavily stressed and fast-running chain.
Note on rivet links:
There are two different types of rivet links on the market – with hollow rivets or solid rivets. Special tools are required for proper riveting for both types!
While hollow rivet pins are spread with a mandrel after the outer plate is fitted for security, the tool simply flattens the head of solid rivet pins. After the proper and professional riveting of the solid rivet pins of the link, you will no longer notice any difference from the surrounding chain links.
