Small hitch: the series power is too high for the graduated licence. Is the dream over? With alpha Technik throttling kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more appealing to the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be adjusted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 licence class. The power, performance weight of 0.2 kW/kg and double the output power of the series vehicle must not be exceeded.

A great deal of know-how goes into the development of power, performance reduction. Essential factors must be taken into account: on the one hand, statutory regulations such as emission, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, maintaining the optimal rideability and homogenous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible.
If all requirements are met, a parts report is created by the technical service. Until then, the development and measurement effort is considerable, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle travel limiters.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, novice drivers had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW throttling kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 licence. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance reduction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or with throttle travel limiters.
