Proudly holding your motorcycle A2 licence, you’ve spotted your dream motorbike at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! Small catch: the standard power is too high for the restricted licence. Is the dream over? On the contrary, with alpha Technik power, performance reductions, your motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With throttling kits from alpha Technik, motorbikes of all power, performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought down to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 licence class. The power, performance weight of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the series vehicle must not be exceeded.

A great deal of expertise goes into the development of power, performance reduction. Here, essential factors must be considered: on one side are the legal regulations, such as emissions, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side, the aim is to maintain the optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance development as unchanged as possible.
If all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a demanding development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous throttle restrictors and throttle stops.

25 kW Throttling:
Before the new driver's licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new drivers had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its large assortment, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW throttling kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 licence. All 25 kW throttles work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance reduction is achieved by installing specially designed throttle restrictors in the intake tract or with throttle stops.
