Small hitch: the standard power output is too high for the graduated licence. Is the dream over? On the contrary, with alpha Technik power, performances reductions, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With alpha Technik throttle restrictor kits, motorcycles of all power, performances classes become more attractive for the motorcycle rider, as almost every desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performances power-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power reduction. Essential factors must be taken into account: on the one hand, statutory regulations such as exhaust, noise, and power, performances performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogenous power, performances power delivery as unchanged as possible.
If all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is an extensive development and measurement effort that is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle travel limiters.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new Driving Licence Ordinance, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW throttle restrictor kits today, which can therefore be used by holders of the A2 licence. All 25 kW restrictors work by mechanical means; no interventions in the electronics are necessary. The power, performances power reduction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle travel limiters.
