Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, you’ve seen your dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! Small catch: the standard power output for the stepped licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performances reductions, your motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With alpha Technik throttle kits, motorcycles of all power, performances classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be adjusted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performances-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the production vehicle must not be exceeded.

Much expertise goes into developing the power, performances reduction. Essential factors must be considered: on one side are legal regulations, such as exhaust, noise, and power, performances measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side, the largely unchanged preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performances delivery. Once all requirements are met, a component certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, significant development and measurement effort is involved, which is not always immediately apparent with the sometimes inconspicuous throttle plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Throttling:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW throttle kits today, which can consequently be used by A2 driving licence holders. All 25 kW throttles operate mechanically; no electronic intervention is required. The power, performances reduction is achieved by installing specially designed throttle plates in the intake tract or using throttle stops.
