Proudly holding the A2 motorcycle licence, spotted the dream motorbike at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be it! Small catch: the standard power for the tiered licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance restrictor kits, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With alpha Technik restrictor kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be adjusted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply for holders of the current A2 licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power, performance restriction. Essential factors must be considered: on one side are the legal regulations, such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side, the largely unchanged preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery. Once all requirements are met, a component certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a high level of development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restrictor kits today, which can consequently be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictors function mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance restriction occurs through the installation of specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
