Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, seen the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this bike HAS to be it! Small catch: the standard power for the stepped driving licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performances restrictor kits, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With alpha Technik restrictor kits, motorcycles of all power, performances classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence. The power-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and twice the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power, performances restriction. Key factors must be taken into account: on the one hand, there are legal requirements, such as exhaust emission, noise, and power, performances measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performances delivery, as unchanged as possible.
Once all requirements are met, a technical report is drawn up by the technical service. Until then, a significant development and measurement effort goes into it, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new driving licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restrictor kits today, which can therefore be used by holders of the A2 driving licence. All 25 kW restrictors work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performances restriction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
