Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, spotted the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this is the machine! Small catch: the standard power output is too high for the graduated licence. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance reductions, your motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With restrictor kits from alpha Technik, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought down to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, for holders of the current A2 driving licence class, special conditions apply. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

Extensive know-how goes into the development of power, performance reduction. Essential factors must be considered: on one hand, legal regulations such as emissions, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible.
Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, there is a high level of development and measurement effort involved, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle travel limiters.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new Driving Licence Ordinance, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restrictor kits today, which can therefore be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictors work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance reduction occurs through the installation of specially designed restrictor plates in the intake manifold or with throttle travel limiters.
