Proudly holding the motorcycle licence A2, seen the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor dealership – this machine HAS to be it! One small catch: the standard power output for the progressive licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance reductions, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With alpha Technik restrictor kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be reduced to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the series production vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power, performance reduction. Essential factors must be considered: on the one hand, legal regulations such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the greatest possible preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery.
If all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a significant development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restrictor kits today, which can consequently be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no interventions in the electronics are necessary. The power, performance reduction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
