Small catch: the standard power, performance is too high for the graduated licence. Is the dream over? With alpha Technik restrictor kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more appealing to motorcycle riders, as almost any desired model can be brought down to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original output power, performance of the series vehicle must not be exceeded.

Extensive expertise goes into the development of power, performance restrictor kits. Essential factors must be taken into account: on one hand, legal requirements such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible. Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it involves considerable development and measurement efforts, which are not immediately apparent from the sometimes unassuming restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restriction:
Before the new driving licence regulation came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. All 25 kW restrictors function mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance restriction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
