"motorcycleland" certificate 25 kW for Honda CBX650E, Vehicle Type: RC13, from model year 1985, ABE No. C917 from 37/ 55 kW, with conversion partsGeneral Description
Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, spotted your dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! Minor hitch: the standard power output for the graduated licence is too high. Dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance reductions, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality! With alpha Technik restrictor kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be adjusted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the series vehicle must not be exceeded.
A lot of know-how goes into the development of power reduction. Essential factors must be considered here: on the one hand, there are legal regulations such as exhaust, noise, and power measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, there is the greatest possible preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power delivery.
Once all requirements are met, a component certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it's a high level of development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.
25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restrictor kits today, which can consequently be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. Power reduction occurs through the installation of specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or with throttle stops.
