Small catch: the standard power output for the staged licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance reduction kits, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost every desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, for holders of the current A2 driving licence class, special conditions apply. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the production vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power restriction. Essential factors must be taken into account: on the one hand, statutory regulations such as emissions, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogenous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible. If all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, there is a high development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle travel limiters.

25 kW restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by A2 driving licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance reduction occurs through the installation of specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle travel limiters.
