Small catch: the standard power, performance for the graduated licence is too high. Is the dream over? With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance weight of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power, performance of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power, performance restriction. Essential factors must be taken into account here: on the one hand, there are legal requirements, such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, there is the aim of maintaining optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible.
If all requirements are met, a technical report will be drawn up by the technical service. Until then, a high level of development and measurement effort is involved, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous throttle plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance restriction is achieved by installing specially designed throttle plates in the intake tract or with throttle stops.
