Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, seen the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! One small hitch: the standard power output for the graduated licence is too high. Dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance restrictions, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought down to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2kW/kg and double the original power output of the series vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power, performance restriction. Key factors must be taken into account here: on the one hand, there are legal requirements, such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance development, as unchanged as possible. Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a considerable development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous throttle restrictors and throttle stop limiters.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 driving licence. All 25 kW restrictions operate mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is required. The power, performance restriction is achieved through the installation of specially designed throttle restrictors in the intake tract, or with throttle stop limiters.
