One small catch: the standard power output for your progressive licence is too high. Dream over? With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for motorcycle riders, as almost any desired model can be restricted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the production vehicle must not be exceeded.

A great deal of expertise goes into developing power, performance restriction kits. Essential factors must be considered here: on one hand, there are legal regulations such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the aim is to maintain optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible. Once all requirements are met, a component certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it involves a considerable amount of development and measurement effort, which is not always immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous throttle plates and throttle stops.

25 kW restrictions:

Before the new driving licence regulation came into force in spring 2013, new drivers had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can therefore be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions operate mechanically; no electronic intervention is required. The power, performance restriction is achieved by installing specially designed throttle plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
