Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 licence, having seen your dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! Small catch: the standard power for the tiered licence is too high. Dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power reductions, your motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 licence class. The power-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power reduction. Here, essential factors must be considered: on the one hand, there are legal requirements such as exhaust, noise, and power measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power delivery as unchanged as possible.
Once all requirements are met, a part certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it involves a high level of development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous throttle plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today due to its large product range, which can therefore be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. Power reduction occurs through the installation of specially developed throttle plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
