Proudly holding your motorcycle A2 licence, seen your dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! Small catch: the standard power output is too high for a staged licence. Dream over? Quite the opposite, because with alpha Technik power, performances restrictions, your motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performances classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be adjusted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performances weight of 0.2 kW/kg and double the output power of the production vehicle must not be exceeded.

A great deal of know-how goes into the development of power, performances restriction. Key factors must be taken into account here: on the one hand, statutory regulations such as exhaust, noise, and power, performances measurements according to the latest EC Directive. On the other hand, the greatest possible unaltered preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performances delivery. Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a considerable development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous throttle restrictors and throttle stop limiters.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 licence. All 25 kW restrictions operate mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is required. The power, performances restriction is achieved by installing specially designed throttle restrictors in the intake tract, or with throttle stop limiters.
