Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, having spotted your dream motorbike at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! Small catch: the standard power output for the staged driving licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, with alpha Technik power, performance restriction kits, your motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorbikes of all power, performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought down to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power restriction. Essential factors must be taken into account: on one side are the legal regulations, such as exhaust gas, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side, the aim is to maintain optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance development as unchanged as possible.
If all requirements are met, a part certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a demanding development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW restrictions:
Before the new Driving Licence Regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 driving licence. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance reduction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or using throttle stops.
