Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 licence, spotted the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be it! Small catch: the standard power output for the progressive licence is too high. Dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance reductions, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With restriction kits from alpha Technik, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost every desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, for holders of the current A2 driving licence class, special conditions apply. The power, performance weight of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the series vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power, performance reduction. Essential factors must be taken into account: on one side are the legal regulations, such as exhaust, noise and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side is the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible.
If all requirements are met, a technical report (Teilegutachten) is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a demanding development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 licence. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance reduction occurs through the installation of specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or with throttle stops.
