Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, spotted the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be it! Small snag: the standard power output is too high for the tiered licence. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performances reductions, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performances classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence. The power, performances weight of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the production vehicle must not be exceeded.

A great deal of expertise goes into developing power, performances reductions. Key factors must be considered: on one hand, legal regulations such as exhaust, noise, and power, performances measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, maintaining optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performances delivery as unchanged as possible.
Once all requirements are met, a component certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it involves extensive development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous throttle plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can therefore be used by A2 driving licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions function mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is required. The power, performances reduction is achieved by installing specially designed throttle plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
