Proudly holding the motorcycle licence A2, seen the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be it! Small catch: the standard power output for the stepped licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance reductions, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be adjusted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 motorcycle licence. The power, performance weight of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the series vehicle must not be exceeded.

Much know-how goes into the development of power, performance reduction. Essential factors must be considered: on the one hand, there are legal regulations, such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible. Once all requirements are met, a part certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a considerable development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can therefore be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions operate mechanically; no electronic interventions are necessary. The power, performance reduction occurs through the installation of specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or with throttle stops.
