Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, you've spotted your dream motorbike at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be yours! Small catch: the standard power output for the progressive licence is too high. Is the dream over? With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorbikes of all power, performance classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be adjusted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance weight of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the series vehicle must not be exceeded.

Considerable expertise goes into developing the power, performance power restriction. Key factors must be taken into account: on one side are the legal regulations, such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side is the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance power delivery, as unaltered as possible. Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it's a significant development and measurement effort, which isn't immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous throttle plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance power restriction is achieved by installing specially designed throttle plates in the intake tract or using throttle stops.
