Proudly holding the motorcycle licence A2, seen the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine MUST be it! Small catch: the standard power is too high for the staged licence. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance restriction kits, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for motorcycle riders, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current driving licence class A2. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power restriction. Essential factors must be taken into account: on one side are the legal regulations, such as exhaust, noise and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side, the greatest possible preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery.
If all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a high development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW restrictions:
Before the new Driving Licence Regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by holders of the A2 licence. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance restriction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake manifold, or with throttle stops.
