Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 licence, spotted the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be it! Slight snag: the standard power for the stepped licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performance restriction kits, the motorcycle dream immediately becomes a reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought down to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 motorcycle licence. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the production vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of power, performance restriction. Essential factors must be considered: on the one hand, legal regulations such as exhaust, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, maintaining optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery as unchanged as possible.
Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it's a significant development and measurement effort, which isn't immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous restriction plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by A2 licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no electronic intervention is necessary. The power, performance restriction is achieved by installing specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract or with throttle stops.
