Proudly holding your motorcycle A2 driving licence, you’ve seen your dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor - this machine HAS to be yours! One small hitch: the standard power output for the graduated driving licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, with alpha Technik power, performance reductions, your motorcycle dream immediately becomes reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2kW/kg and twice the original power output of the production vehicle must not be exceeded.

A great deal of know-how goes into the development of power, performance reduction. Key factors must be taken into account here: on one hand, there are legal requirements, such as exhaust emissions, noise, and power, performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other hand, the preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performance delivery, as unaltered as possible.
Once all requirements are met, a parts certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it involves extensive development and metrological effort, which isn't immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous restrictor plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can therefore be used by holders of the A2 driving licence. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The power, performance reduction occurs through the installation of specially designed restrictor plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
