With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all performance classes become more interesting for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be brought to the required performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 licence class. The performance-to-weight ratio of 0.2 kW/kg and double the output performance of the standard vehicle must not be exceeded.

A lot of know-how goes into the development of performance reduction. Essential factors must be taken into account: on one side are the legal regulations, such as exhaust gas, noise, and performance measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side, the greatest possible unchanged preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous performance delivery.
If all requirements are met, a technical report is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a considerable development and measurement effort that is not immediately apparent in the sometimes inconspicuous throttle plates and throttle stops.

25 kW restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to make do with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its large assortment, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can therefore be used by holders of the A2 licence. All 25 kW restrictions work mechanically; no intervention in the electronics is necessary. The performance reduction is achieved by installing specially designed throttle plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
