Proudly holding the motorcycle A2 driving licence, spotted the dream motorcycle at the dealer, distributor – this machine HAS to be it! Slight snag: the standard power output for the progressive licence is too high. Is the dream over? On the contrary, because with alpha Technik power, performances restrictions, the motorcycle dream instantly becomes reality!

With alpha Technik restriction kits, motorcycles of all power, performances classes become more appealing for the motorcycle rider, as almost any desired model can be adjusted to the required power, performance of 25 kW or 35 kW. However, special conditions apply to holders of the current A2 driving licence class. The power, performances weight of 0.2 kW/kg and double the original power output of the series vehicle must not be exceeded.

Considerable expertise goes into developing the power, performances restriction. Here, essential factors must be taken into account: on one side are the legal regulations, such as emissions, noise, and power, performances measurements according to the latest EC directive. On the other side, the largely unaltered preservation of optimal rideability and homogeneous power, performances delivery. Once all requirements are met, a component certificate is issued by the technical service. Until then, it is a considerable development and measurement effort, which is not immediately apparent from the sometimes inconspicuous throttle plates and throttle stops.

25 kW Restrictions:
Before the new driving licence regulation, which came into force in spring 2013, new licence holders had to manage with 25 kW for 2 years. Due to its extensive product range, alpha Technik still offers numerous 25 kW restriction kits today, which can consequently be used by A2 driving licence holders. All 25 kW restrictions operate mechanically; no electronic intervention is required. The power, performances restriction is achieved by installing specially designed throttle plates in the intake tract, or with throttle stops.
